J...

I remember seeing an old shop picture where there were a few guitars sitting in a rack and I thought one of them was a Double Neck...

...was that Schroeder or just a repair job of somekind?

Hey Chris!
That was built literally weeks after I finished my Yellow #1 in about 1994. I never finished it. Life kind of got in the way!! I was just finishing my Bachelor's degree and working a ton to pay for school. I didn't have the money for the hardware. But that guitar was the first guitar to use my current headstock. It is kind of funny that it stuck. It is sitting in my wood room right now. I will try to snap some pics of it some time.

Man I thought it was a Schroeder of somekind! Pictures of the guitar would be cool if you get a chance. Ever think of finishing is sometime? If you weren't too attached to it I'm sure someone would buy it as an RTS guitar.

Nice!!! Is that the same one that was sitting around or did you start another one? I only ask as I recall seeing one with necks already attached?

It is a new guitar. I am still catching on critical items on guitars that have already been started so I had to keep the guys busy. Might as well be something like this! So I had already designed the body a few months back (one of my late night pleasures!!) and so we pulled out the design and figured out which pieces of wood we had that could be dimensioned for a doubleneck. I jusst oversaw most of it. I did a lot of the critical steps after I had the shop to myself (binding, carving the top, refining the design of the 12 string headstock and making a template for that, etc.)

Be careful what you put in my head!!! :D

so what woods are on the other double neck body that goof saw in the pictures awhile back ? I know you said this one is a redwood top...if it sounds anything like the redwood SC then this thing is going to be a monster RTS !

The other guitar is mahogany back and thin (3/8") maple top (from the same piece as my number one yellow and the original red guitar). That guitar will not be sold though. It is firmly placed in the Schroedersonian as a historic unfinished piece. :D

I feel really good about this doubleneck's tone. I would also love to do a straight 12 string now that the headstock designed!

No pressure! Actually, I am catching up and getting to the next phase of bodies (including yours which was one of the next in line). Especially now that you have decided on the body shape!! LOL!
