Edit...

so, i blasted this thing out to ya'll (and on TGP) and really didn't think it through too well. Figures. I work a really busy schedule at EMC Corporation so, i don't typically have the time to sit and ponder. Then again, I'm really freakin' excited about this stuff.

the backstory on this is that about 2 months ago, I got the hankering to add ANOTHER product line to my off-hours consulting business, basing it on, of course, the premise that custom amplifiers are pretty darn cool. It fits within my business model so, I sent off an email to JMI. I'd heard horror stories from other folks in the business about purchasing commits, etc. and I really needed a company that I could easily rep for (i.e. a good "name") but that would be somewhat limited in scope (i.e. JMI). giving the lawsuit threats going on with JMJ and all the other Vox clones out there, I picked JMI based on what research I could.

they started the craze. period. the vox name has been so emasculated over time that today, it's really hard for me to understand how Korg can sell Chinese made boxes and expect, well, much of anything. Maybe it's the closet cork-sniffer in me but....screw 'em. I'm wanting a better product made in the good 'ol UK.

In any case, I present for your perusal the definitive VOX amps of the late 50's and early 60's. Each of these is modeled off of the exact circuits of that era, complete with the vib/trem circuits, top boost, and ef-86 preamps where appropriate. Enjoy...I know I will.
