Its been 3 months since my last stupid question and this forum needs some life so I will throw out a token question.
Soundholes. Are they mainly for weight savings? How do they affect tone? They sure do look cool.....Talk amongst yourselves.

Hey Skip!
I will be posting videos with sound clips of this guitar shortly so I will give you the skinny on the effects of the chamber and soundhole. In general, it gives a more open sound and less of an immediate attack on the note. I like to think of it as "blooming" notes as opposed to a solid body that has a bit more spank. Really adds to the warmth of the guitar. It also provides weight relief and a cool aesthetic. A bit complicated to do by hand!!
Long story behind this one!! But look for videos in the next few days.

That's my basic feeling on sound-holes as well...and it's the reasoning behind selecting one for my Schroeder. It should really balance out the somewhat (to my ears anyways) severe attack that a maple neck can give a guitar.
Video's on that guitar huh...can't wait to watch them! It sure is a killer RTS guitar with a bunch of cool features going for it. I'm sure someone will be very happy with the guitar.

Here is what I know:
It’s a one piece maple top with a one piece white limba body and limba neck. The p’ups are P-rails with custom made rings. P-rails are a new pickup that allow you to switch between true P90s and a rail singlecoil. The guitar has two systems:
1) In one mode, you control the two outer pickups with the 3-way.
2) In the other mode, you control all 3 pickups with the 5-way.
There is a master pickup mode switch that makes the pickups either P90s, singlecoils or humbuckers. The color is actually faded purple but it almost looks like faded charcoal.

Singles, P90s and Humbuckers, OH MY!
Wow Jason that is a sick looking guitar man. The stuff your shop keeps pumping out is wild. I've never heard of this pickup system, any similarity to what PRS did w/ the 513 model? PRS used 5 single coils which is the obvious difference.
Thanx for the insight, Goof, on how soundholes could effect maple necked guitars. Perhaps I should consider this optionas I'm leaning towards an all maple neck as Jason has a SICK piece of flamed maple for my neck or was it just a WILD piece of maple ( or so I heard via Elizabeth)?
I'll try and post another ? in about 3 months.
Cheers folks,
Skip
