Hi Mr. Schroeder,
I exchanged IMs with you over a year ago about a V type guitar.
Now,I have some questions as to maybe your thoughts and ideas.
And I'll lay out what I was thinking.Well,Im easy to please and I would enjoy any guitar you hand crafted. For me.
Anyways, I have always lusted after a 71 Gibson V2. I seen one a few years ago and came back with the $2200 and it was gone. :-( I'm over chasing them because they are out of reach and Im sure I can get what I want made for me. I came across an 80s band who a few guys told me the main man was yielding a Schroeder. That's when I searched and found you. But I think There is another Schroeder in Chicago who also is a luth. I asked you and you never heard of the V so I guess it was the other guy, haha,I'm sold on your work and your attention to detail and pleasing the costomer.
My questions aren't short ones. I was reading about the 70s Vs and some were multiply and some were solid bodys. Where would we start?
And some were neck through and some were set necks.(Basically 2 wings glued on an extended neck) What would we need?
I also can't stand maple tops, not that that would ever work on a V anyways but it is pretty,I just cant stand the poppy slapback sound it gives on necks or bodies.
So we have all mohogany so far haha.
And I invisioned your headstock on a nice natural finish v type guitar and I think it goes well.
Would you just have to design the whole thing?
Maybe uneven wings?
Or maybe sharper wings?
I got the idea from An 80's band called Macabre. I seen him with a handmade V.
Whats the nicest guitar in the world? The one you have made for you! HAHA!
I definately dig the stainless fretts you offer. I was thinking Schallers and a stopbar.
Any interresting thoughts anyone can throw out there?
Thanks and I'll look forward to your thoughts and Ideas.
