Ryan has Schroeder Custom #0048 on order. This guitar is a redwood singlecut, and it's top is a gorgeous piece of wildly figured redwood.
Maybe Ryan will share the other specs planned for this one?? :)
A beautiful top:

Sorry if it's a dumb question... But what kind of tone does redwood transfer?
It looks pretty killer.

Hey Lance, I can't speak for a Redwood top guitar. Tommy can probably jump in, his Redwood top single cut was just used to record a new album.
Mine is solid redwood, so it's a bit different. Very light soft wood, resonates real well. Notes ring very clear and rich sounding. Solid Redwood needs to be balanced with pups that have a slight bite to them (IMHO). I put a set of Duncan 59's and it's fantastic. Without the slight bite, it can loose some sustain (a harder wood back balances that out I'm sure). Like I said, very rich, organic sounding. Lets the true tone ring through. I had a dude name Richard come over a few weeks ago. He was one of the first employees at PRS (he's in the old PRS group shots). He flipped over the Redwood Shorty more than anything else.

The Redwood Proto SC was used on Trixie's new album http://www.myspace.com/tellingontrixie and as of right now there are 3 songs from it on their myspace page, Shooting In 60, Crash Me Up and ANFO...All the heavy rhythm and chuggin' guitars in ANFO were the redwood as well as the little lead lines during the song. Pretty sure it was just straight into an '81 JCM800.

Agreed. Very resonant and lively. It is a warmer tone than maple but really musical.

Completely agree. IMHO Redwood makes one of the best acoustic tones available. It reminds me of Cedar on steroids.
On electrics it has the added bonus of the visual beauty of Maple, but doesn't have the strident top end or weight that Maple has. IMHO Redwood doesn't have as much of an impact on electric tone unless the guitar is chambered or hollow. It still sounds and looks great, but when I take my Redwood Huber to stage volume, the thing is absolutely insanely resonant and an absolute monster to control...in a good way, of course. LOL!!! Redwood rocks...

The Huber Redwoods are chambered...just an FYI. I also agree that they are crazy resonant!! At least I know mine is....moreso than any other guitar I own.

Most of the time!!!! Joey was talking to me as this pic was being taken. So E is telling me to "smile" and Joey is talking to me while I am trying to carve a neck!!! Fortunately, I have very good focus!

I have had this guitar for some time now. It is, in a word, amazing. First, I will speak to the quality of the build because it's something everyone appreciates when they see the guitar, regardless of their musical inclination. In a word: impeccable. It's a work of art. Quite literally, almost everyone says "Whoooooaaaaa" when I first pull it out of the case.
It is an absolute joy to play. The action is perfect. I bend strings all day and it never goes out of tune, and while it goes flat and sharp with changes in temperature (true of any wood instrument), it has never gone out of tune relative to itself since the day it arrived.
Find myself getting a lot of mileage out of the middle pickup position, which is a new development for me. Best thing I can say about the sound is that I got what I was looking for.
All in all, couldn't be happier about the purchase.
