I'm shopping for a case and came across this one.
http://www.gatorcases.com/sections/prdct/guitar/ata_flight.htm

This thing looks pretty cool and durable.
It costs $109.99 at MF, which seems very reasonable if this case really is ATA.

They also have this one. It maybe overkill for me but it looks well made and burly.

This one costs 259.99 at MF.

Does anyone have any info or experience with this company?

What are you guys doing for a case?

Thanks

I have a gator case but the model isn't offered anymore (just looked on their website) but here is a link to one being sold on ebay http://safeurl.de/http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7337377468&category=20830&rd=1 ...it's like a regular hardshell case only with a zipper instead of latches...I bought it years ago and I actually really like it...held up very nicely and I would put it up against any of my standard Jackson, Ibanez, ESP, etc cases

Thanks for chiming in, glad to hear the Gators have been good to you.
I'm leaning towards the ATA case as of now.

Thanks Kev,

I scored on a nice case for my guitar.
It's a flight case made by Warwick.
It's a basic strat style case on the inside with pretty dense foam.
I just had to shave a little of the foam where the neck rests and now the guitar fits perfect.
I'll take some photos tomorrow.
BTW I found it at a really cool music shop in Chico that Jason took me too when we met up last saturday. And thanks to the guys at the shop they were way cool and hooked me up on the case and few other goodies..

IMHO, Jason should choose a quality case in a color that seperates his guitars from others.

Example..

Mcinturff has a hunter green case, that is of very high quality. I believe that its a G&G.

Baker guitars used to use an orange G&G case.

The opposite side of the spectrum is Nik Huber. I am a huge Huber fan, his guitar are unlike anything else I have played, and his attention to detail is nothing short of astounding. However, when I spend $3500+ on a guitar, I expect a case that is different from a $300 Epiphone. The generic TKL case just doesn't cut it when you spend that kind of dough on a guitar of that caliber.

I firmly believe that most customers would appreciate a high quality case (G&G would be my preferred choice) and would have no problem paying a little extra for it. At the very least, it should be an option. IMHO it should be standard on a custom made guitar.

How about a snakeskin or croc G&G case Jason? With a Schroeder Badge on the front. That would kick ass.

I believe Jason is in contact with several case manufacturers to get details on having cases made.
I just didnt want to wait for Jason to finalize a deal with a case company seeing my guitar needed one right away.
I would bet by the time your guitar is ready there will be an option for a case.

Fear not Rob. I am on the "case." ;) Cases are a strange market though. Either cheap and cheesy or nice and REALLY expensive. We'll find one that I am happy with. And I agree that a nice handbuilt guitar should have a nice bed to lay in. Personally, I don't worry too much about cases though as I hang most of my guitars! I like to just pull them off the wall to play them. And I only usually bring one guitar to a gig so I would be fine with just one case!! LOL.

I will let you know...

Excellent!!! I hope my post was not misunderstood. I certainly wasn't implying anything negative in my post. My point was that a special case serves multiple purposes.

1. As stated by Jason, it gives a special guitar a special place to reside.
2. I am a gigging musician , and the G&G cases I have, hold up much better than the cheap TKLs. I have already broken a couple of latches on the TKLs, my G&Gs are fine. The tolex on the G&G is also a bit thicker and the G&G is double stiched.
3. Making the case a color that stands out serves another very important function. It is very difficult to steal a guitar that is in a bright orange case. I use two guitars live, one is my Baker in an orange case, and the other is a Huber in a TKL black and white checkerboard case. Both of them stand out in a crowd, and it would be very difficult for someone to take one of my guitars without someone seeing them. IMHO, this is the most important aspect of the special color for the case.

ohhh that's a good point..never thought of that...therefore I have all black cases except for my brown Gibson ones...I second that...something flashy would be nice, or a bright solid color :D

Here is an example of what I am talking about. I also have a checkerboard rectangular case. You can see how difficult these would be to steal. Also...they are real eye catchers, and people will look to see what I am taking out of these beautiful cases. It really help to draw attention to a guitar, something that Jason would benefit from IMHO.

http://www.rockhardcases.com/guitar.htm

here are two that I liked after going through that entire list that was posted earlier leading to the other forum...both are ATA cases and look beautiful on the inside and outside !

Another one I came acrossed and it just happened to be on "ER" 's website (I won't mention his name on this forum after making that mistake before haha) but it's a G&G case in some kind of silver top which I thought looked very sleak and sexy
