If a Tree Falls in the Woods Does it Make a Sound?

Hell ya!!!....Like a stick of dynamite!

About an hour or so ago this tree fell next to my house. Scared the shit of me.

You can see here that if it fell the other way we'd be screwed.

Came really close to the car.

Many days my blue quad would be sitting where this piece is.

Almost took the bikes out also.

All in all we were really lucky. Now I just have to buck it up and add it to the firewood stack.. :D

wow...doesn't that worry you guys about falling trees ? I mean would it just damage the roof and roll off if it would've fallen into your house ? or actually put a nice hole up there if it were to hit your house ? that shit would scare the hell out of me

That was first one to ever fall in the 5 years we've been here. For the most part the trees around the house are very old and are pretty huge and alive. I dont think they are going anywhere.

The one that fell was smaller and dead. But I didnt realize just how dried out it had become.
I think if this one fell on the house we'd have some minor to medium roof damage. But I think it would have broke into several pieces right away like it did today and that would have lessend the damage. The beams used in our house are huge slabs of wood milled from the trees used for the logs. I think they're 12x8s and we have several of them holding this place up.
When it fell it totally scared the shit out of me. It sounded like a stick of dynamite went off.

All in all we are soooo lucky. Nothing at all got damaged and no one was hurt.
I already have it all cleaned up.. :D

You guys, told you not to mess with me. It was a warning to bryan, to keep that JS guitar safe! Its going to be worth mucho dinero in the future.

Actually I was trying to have it hit a guy in Seattle but missed by a few 100 miles ;)

Seriously, glad no one was hurt. I went through a huge storm a couple of yrs ago and lots of my friends and neighbors got alot of damage. We were lucky.

Jason, how many tops can you get from that log. I think Bryan should get a guitar made from it, its a good omen!

Did you see the LPs that Gibson made from OLD HICKORY and Taylor made the Liberty series from a famous tree that fell which was associated with the american revolution.
