Hey guys,
I am still alive! In the process of getting the Tour guitar ready I decided to experiment with an idea I have had for a long time but had never implemented until now. Here is the latest. I wanted the two tone look for the Tour Guitar but I wanted to do something original for the "dulling" or "brushing" of the chrome pickup covers. I decided to do a "faux flame" on the metal and it turned out pretty killer, IMHO. It has 3D movement just like maple!! I am tempted to take video of it moving in the light! Anyway, you get the idea...

Hey Shad!
The effect is actually pretty subtle which is good I think. But it is enough to make it a little more interesting and original. May not be for everyone but another option.

By the way, the pickups are Wagner Shredders.

Very cool Jason, I think it looks great.
I've been trying to read about Wagners. Does he have a web site? I never heard of Shredders. What's in your Chopper?

Hey Stu!!
Wagner's site is http://www.crcoils.com. The Shredders were actually a joint venture with RS Guitarworks at http://www.rsguitarworks.net. I have Wgner Goodwoods in the Chopper. They are a bit lower output than the Shredders.

Yet another cool idea! Looks great! Hmmm....can you do it in "quilt" in my Mini-hums, hehe! I know, always a smart ass. All kidding aside, a very classy look.

Hey Tony! Hey Tommy!
I am seriously thinking about trying to mimic a quilt!! Sort of coninue the pattern of the top through the pickup cover. A much more complicated pattern though.

Ha! AAAAA?!! ;) These things are actually pretty cool. I think I may change the orientation of the "flame" though. It looks cool but it might look even better rotated a bit so it mates better with the slant of the quilt.
