I finally got my amp put back together so I can play test your guitars as they are completed. I had played a Fender '65 Twin Reverb RI for years and it was not functioning well, was vibrating like crazy, and had a blown speakers as it turns out. So I ordered a couple of cabinets from Robert Cray's former amp tech: Zack@Vibroworld http://www.vibroworld.com/ and I could not be more pleased. I had him make two cabinets for me, first a head cabinet for the chassis and reverb unit of the 65 Twin and then a separate Bassman cabinet with 2- 12" Celestion G12H speakers. Man does this amp smoke. So sparkly and clean and then sounds absolutely killer with the trusty Mesa Boogie V-Twin pedal out in front of it for distortion. Sound clips to come.
The other thing I did that is probably against the rules of the Twin is I had it covered in tweed with oxblood grille cloth. But I absolutely love the way it looks too! Here is a pic.

The next cabinet I get will be a 2-12 cabinet from Don "Shovelhead" DiMasi that is open back and I will likely put Celestion Vintage 30s in that one. I really want to have the option of being able to have that focused tight closed back sound with the Bassman or the more open and broken up open back sound. I am also planning on getting a 50W Marshall Plexi head and a Vox AC30 head that I can switch using these cabinets. I think would just about cover all the tones I really love!
