OK guys, on to the sound.

Unplugged: I really like taking notice of a guitar unplugged. I donít buy into everything I read (sorry Eric Johnson, I couldnít tell the difference between batteries used), but I do believe a way an electric guitar resonates and rings unplugged is important. After all, the pickups are picking up the way the strings vibrate. The TOUR resonates and chimes real well. While I was talking to Doc on the phone, I put the phone on my desk and just started strumming some open chords. First he asked if it was plugged in, I said ěnoî. Then he asked if it is semi-hallow, I told him,î not only is it not semi-hallow, it doesnít even have a trem cavity. Sounds great unplugged

Plugged: Obviously the pick-ups used is going to be an opinionated subject. Thatís why thereís vanilla and chocolate. Didnít know quite what to expect with the Wagners. The guitars unplugged qualities came through very well when amplified. When I gave Tommy the guitar I told him the sustain is crazy.
I really liked the neck pick up. Very warm, full and clear. The bridge pick up sounded real nice for rock with some dirt. I personally like a bridge pick-up a bit hotter, so thatís for you decide depending on your playing preference. But the guitar sounded great, electronics were tight; no crackling or static when switching pick-ups. It has a three way toggle with no tapping, so I canít tell you if the pick-ups split well.

Conclusion: Looking at the TOUR guitar with itís exact specs (wide neck, stop tail, 3 way toggle, 22 fets), I really like the TOUR a lot. Looking at the TOUR guitar as an example of Jasons work, Iím blown away. I think thatís the important thing to remember about the guitar. Itís not made to our specs. It was made to show us an example of Jasons work. I brought the guitar to a local guitar show and pimped it around :D . I showed it to a couple of storeowners I know as well as the manager of my local GC store. When the storeowners were checking it out he storeowners in the adjacent booths also took a look. Every body examined the guitar, and thought is was stunning. I couldnít be happier that I chose Jason to build me a guitar.

Hey Thank you very much for your reviews. Your reviews were the best ones I have ever read for any guitar.

I was always under the assumption that a guitar unplugged should sound good for it to be a good guitar. And I have tested that theory. It seems to me at least to be true. Thatís how i check a guitar before doing the plug in.

I was a little curious about the Wagners also. I might go with a Wagner neck pickup. But like you I prefer a hotter pickup in the bridge.

Would you say that the bridge pickup is more of a vintage tone? Like a Seymour Duncan 59? Or a McCarty bridge?

Once again, thank you for your excellent reviews.

Will

To me McCarty's sound a bit nasally. I never palyed a SD 59 in the bridge, just JB's.

The bridge pick-up is really good. I'de say it has vintage tones but with more bite. I just prefer a bit more high end\hotter output.

Do you agree with that assessment Jason ?

I agree with your Stu...the neck PUP sounds amazing but the bridge needs to be hotter for me as well...I sent Jason a quick song done with the guitar so he can host it cause I don't ahve that capibility here and I have the exact recorded with my main Les Paul and you can really hear a difference in how much hotter the LP's pups are...

I thought you played JEMs??

Stu, I say we start our own guitar mag. We know more stuff than those mags put together.
