Heres a copy of the email i sent to jason. Let me know what you all think!
Jason,
I just gave you a call regarding what I want regarding the unknowns for my guitar.
Color: As far as the color i think that i want a darker, amberish shade of natural. I might also just want a straight clear natural that just shows the woods true character. If you could maybe show me a few samples of shades of natural finish that would be great. I really think that I just have a beautiful top, that has plenty of flame, but also just looks like it really just came from a tree. Natural is what i think would look best!
Purfling: I know we talked about doing paua for the purfling but if its alright id love to change it to rosewood if thats possible. I just think it would complement the awesome neck and the natural top so perfectly. The guitar would just look so organic.
Knobs, tuning keys: I think some rosewood knobs and tuning keys would just be unbelievable. They would complement the natural top, neck, and purfling just perfectly. The guitar would once again just look so organic, and beautiful. Id love just seeing shades of wood.
I think this route is the best way to go. Im hoping its possible because i think the guitar would just be dynamite. If i need to find a third party for knobs or tuning keys, let me know. I think i for sure want to use the tonepros adjustable bridge in chrome. Also just to restate, the darkburst neck pickup, and the goodwood bridge pickup. RS electronics kit. Control configuration is two volume, one tone. Id like two coilsplits on the volume knobs. The one closest to the neck pickup should split that pickup, and the one closer to the bridge pickup should split that pickup. Arrangement of knobs is what you think works best, but id like the three switch to be in a convenient location for use during playing. LIke probably below the strings so it can be used on downstrokes, convenient for playing. Sperzel locking tuners in chrome with the rosewood tuning knobs. Bone nut. And the limba back plate to look like the back is one piece. And if its possible, i think the "S" jack plate is too cool to pass up on, ill take one!
Sorry for the long email, i just wanted to get this all in writing. That should cover it all. Hopefully my master plan is all possible because i think it is going to be great. Everyone that has touched the tour guitar has been commenting on how hand made, and as i interpret it, organic feeling. I just cant wait to get my hands on the reck of this guitar, it sounds like its going to be amazing. Thats why i think this route is going to work great. The guitar will look and feel all in the same. Organic, from the earth, to mans hands. I think this is a great way to go and i'm excited just thinking about it. Id love to hear your comments, either through email or hopefully over the phone. Talk to you later.
