I had second row center seats this past Saturday to see B B King. As a major blues lover I have been trying to see him for years but it just never seemed to work out. I was really afraid that at the age of 81 he would be somewhat of a sad shell of the former great. Damn I was wrong...way wrong. Even though he can't stand while he plays anymore he still has a great voice and amazing touch on the guitar. Besides the excellent music he provided (along with an extremely talented backing band) he was witty and charming. It is so nice to see a performer who not only loves what he does but also seems genuinely touched by the admiration of his fans. If you like the blues and get the chance to se him you won't be sorry.

Thanks for motivating me to see him. There is the BB King Blues Cafe on 42st in NYC which he plays at. I have to get off my ass and go see him.

Yeah I've seen him many times, and when I lived in Memphis, I saw him a few times at his joint on beale street.
Paul, you have to go to beale street at least once in your life! I was there for his 80th bday concert, and he was awesome. |
